Les Carroz – information

Les Carroz d’Araches is perched on a plateau at 1140m and is linked to the Grand Massif ski area of Samoens, Morrillon, Sixt and Flaine.

Resort

Les Carroz is one of JG’s favourite ski resorts. It is a traditional French village with some of the best skiing to be found in the Alps, on and off piste. With skiing for all abilities, adventurous or not, it also has some of the most amazing views that we have ever seen. With Mont Blanc shadowing us it makes for some great photo opportunities! The village is a spacious, sunny, family resort with pavement cafes and interesting little shops centered around the main square. It has a pleasant lived-in feel to it and an animated atmosphere. It even has a weekly market to explore on Tuesdays!

Travel

Leaving Sussex in the evening on Friday 4th March 2010, we travel via the Dover Calais ferry route in our spacious luxury coach with on-board facilities. Continuing overnight, we arrive in time to have breakfast in the resort. Those wishing to ski straight away can do so, and those wishing to take a more leisurely aspect to their holiday can relax and move into their accommodation after lunch, or explore the village. For the return journey, we leave at about 5pm on Saturday evening, returning to Sussex early on Sunday morning 14 March 2010 (please let us know if you do not wish to ski on the last day). NB. food on the outward and return journey is not provided, and not included in the price.

Accommodation

We have one large chalet and a couple of smaller apartments close by. All meals, socialising and partying will be down in the larger chalet, with the apartments having facilities to have snacks and refreshments if they require. There is a free bus that takes us from our accommodation to the town and up to the lift (so you never have to walk far), and the bus stop is only 25 metres from our door.

What’s included

Direct luxury coach travel from Sussex, accommodation, an eight-day lift pass and snow hosting. Buffet style breakfasts, ‘help yourself’ picnic lunches and 3-course evening meals (please let us know if you have special diet requirements on the booking form). We also have options on this trip for those wishing to have just 6-day or 7-day lift passes (please get in touch for more info).

Price

All this for just £625!

Val Cenis – information

Val Cenis is situated in the Maurienne Valley and is part of the Vanoise national park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Resort

If you want great skiing on and off piste in an undeveloped part of the Alps, staying in a genuine French mountain village, then this area is for you. The slopes offer great skiing for all abilities and are not crowded – there are rarely any lift queues. Val Cenis has an excellent snow record from December to late April, and on the north facing slopes the snow always stays in good condition. Half the ski area is above the tree line, making for some amazing off piste adventures, and the lower slopes follow the natural line of trees which provides picturesque skiing. There is something here for everyone!

Travel

Leaving Sussex around 8pm on Friday 1st Jan 2010, travelling via Dover Calais in our spacious luxury coach with on-board facilities. Continuing overnight, we arrive in plenty of time to familiarise ourselves with the village and have a spot of lunch. After lunch, we will collect any hire equipment needed and then move into our accommodation. For the return journey, we leave at about 11am, making a stop for lunch and an evening meal, before returning to Sussex early on Sunday 10 Jan 2010.
